The series’ protagonist is a man named Shen Lu and her husband, Pei Jingshen.
In the story, seven years ago, Shen Lu was pregnant with a child between him and Pei Jingshen.
Pei Jingshen was suffering from an illness (cancer), but it was an inheritance for a large family. His family imposed conditions on him, including that he stay away from Shen Lu if they wanted to treat him.
Shen Lu discovered these circumstances and chose to quietly withdraw from his life.
What Pei Jingshen didn’t know was that Shen Lu hadn’t died in the accident that he thought had ended her life. Rather, she was alive and had suffered from a brain disease (amnesia or mental disorder).
The child they had together was also named An An.
After her rebirth, Shen Lu began confronting her husband (including slapping him in the face) to reclaim her rights and reveal what had been hidden.
